Upcoming Books

I’m not sure how other writers do it, but I can’t work on one book at a time. Well, I suppose I could, but it wouldn’t be nearly as much fun. Plus, when I’m working on one book, I inevitably come up with ideas for other books. In my writing, though, there’s always one book that is my priority, but there are second and third books that I allow myself a little break from my priority to work on.

So I guess you are wondering what’s in the pipeline. There are three that I have scheduled. Here’s the Information

  1. keep writing these great great books.I will read everyone of them .Had a hard time putting it down to do other things thanks

    1. Thanks for the wonderful words, Phil! And sorry for distracting you from your life. I have often gotten distracted from life by books so I am thrilled to no end to have accomplished this for someone else! 🙂 I’m writing fast and furious. I’ll let you know when the next one is out. Hint: We finally find out why Laney has all of this swirling around her.

      Take care,

  2. Ill in bed right now with pneumonia, so I just purchased and read the 1st two Belial books. What great reads, they made me forget my illness and lose myself in the story lines. I just wish I had the 3rd one to read, I think it might even cure me! Seriously, really well done, I’m an avid reader and have read many books in a similar vein, but somehow yours just seem more plausible, yet wickedly enjoyable. Keep going, hurry hurry…….!!!!

  3. I just finish reading the Belial series and I can’t wait to read the Belial ring. I just want to say that your books are just marvelous. I enjoy every page of them and get sad when I finish them do I don’t know when I will find another book like yours. Congratulations. You are a marvelous writer. Pleas keep on.

    1. Hi Jose. What a wonderful comment to receive! I’m glad you’re enjoying the series. The third book in the series, The Belial Ring, is heading to the copy editor on May 10th. Barring any major issues, it should be out by mid June. I hope you enjoy it as much. Now we find out a little more about Laney – information that she didn’t even know. It was so much fun to write! Lots of archaeology and history in this one as well. Thanks for reading!

      – R.D.

  4. Just read the 3 Belial books. Really awesome writing. I read them all in about 2 weeks. Just couldn’t put the books down. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Laney and the gang.

    1. Thanks Tricia! I’m glad you’re enjoying them. I have at least two more books planned for in the series. I’m hoping the next one is out before the New Year. Thanks for reading,

  5. Hi there! I just read the 3 Belial book. Congratulations, you are just an amazing writer. I cant wait for the next one ….. I have become a Belialadict.

  6. I love love this series it’s new and exciting. It has all the historical facts interwoven with a terrific story. I love laney and her relationships with jake and with henry. Of course with her uncle patrick and I can’t wait to discover the story behind veronica. Looking forward to the next edition. Is there any date yet on when it’s coming out?

    1. Hi Dana. I’m thrilled you’re enjoying the books. I had originally planned on putting out a stand alone novel, unrelated to the Belial series, this fall but I’ve decided to push that back. So now I’m aiming for an early November release for The Belial Children.

      Thanks for reading!

  7. LOVE your Belial series! I read the first 3 over the weekend and know what you’re saying. I’ve long delved into the places and people you write about. Love your storytelling too, brilliant. Thanks for a great read.

  8. Amazing books! I had been looking for a well written book for quite some time and I stumbled across yours a week ago. Read all three in the Belial series in the last week, couldn’t put them down! Thank you!!!!! Can’t wait for the rest. I now have something I can look forward to reading!

  9. I just finished The Belial Library. I was hoping that your sophomore book would just as good as your first. It was not. It was more exciting and interesting than the first and I LOVED The Belial Stone. I had to take a quick break to let you know before starting The Belial Ring. #notsleeping #greatreads

    1. You had me scared for a minute there! 🙂 Thanks for the kind words and I’m glad you’re enjoying the ride. The next book, The Belial Children, should be out in late fall. I’ll let you know when it’s available. Thanks for getting in touch and for reading.

      Take care,

  10. I did not mean to scare you, but it was true. I am always nervous about reading a second book in a series because it seems to always be a “building” book for the third book. You blew it out of the water. My husband and I had an in depth conversation about Fallen Angels last night. I have him hooked as well! Keep on writing and I will keep on reading!

    1. Well, you know what they say – right what you know. And I know redheads. 🙂 (plus a little archaeology, history and martial arts.)

Thanks for reading and for stopping by.

      Take care,

  11. Love, love, love! I read 1,2 and 3 in 3 days. You do an incredible job of mixing fact with fiction. I love your section at the end explaining what pieces were in fact facts and I learned a lot.

Your crafting of characters is amazing. They are heros we want to root for while being real humans(even the non-humans) with relatable issues and emotions.

I read a lot, 4-7 books a week, so for a book to stick with me takes a great deal. You’ve done that for sure with this series, I’ll be thinking about Laney, Henry, Jake, Danny, Cleo etc anxiously until the next book!

If you ever need some pre-readers, let me know. I’m a huge fan, so glad I discovered you!

    1. Hi Heather. I’m thrilled you’re enjoying the series. I’m working on the next ones right now. And I have been thinking about pre-readers. Thanks for throwing your hat in the ring. I’ll let you know, probably in November sometime.

      Take care,

  12. I discovered the Belial series by chance (destiny, maybe?) and I love the books. You bring together so many disciplines and interests that i find myself checking out books on the topics you discuss (and inevitably buying more books). Thanks for a great series and I can’t wait for book no. 4.

  13. What an absolutely wonderful series you have created in the Beliel books!!! When I have them in my hands the rest of the world disappears. Cannot wait for the next book. Do you have a release date yet? Keep up the great writing.

  14. I totally immersed myself in the Beliel books – read all three in a week! You’re awesome, can’t wait for the next one (and I’m looking at tall people in a whole different light!)

    1. Why do you think I wrote about I really tall people? 🙂 There’s something fascinating about really tall people. And I don’t think it’s just because I’m on the small side! Thanks for reading,

  15. Hi
My best friend found your books on amazon.com and she was telling me about them, how she thought you must have a phd or something because of all the history slammed into every book!! I started The Belial Stone on Wednesday and I’m 55% through The Belial Ring right now, I can’t seem to stop! I’m totally loving the amazing history lesson and the way you have pulled it all together with your awesome imagination! Everything flows so seamlessly together as if we are reading non-fiction books!! We are going to be waiting not so patiently for the anticipated release of The Belial Children!!! Thanks for sharing your brilliant imagination with the world!!

    1. Thanks Joedi! I love books where I learn something too. 🙂 And actually, I do have a Ph.D.. It’s just not in history, even though I am completely fascinated by it. Thanks for reading and I’ll let you know when the next book comes out.

      Thanks for reading,

  16. I just read all 3 of the Belial series books you have out. They were awesome and fun to read. I am looking forward to the continuations. I would also love to read about Helen. I love historical fiction and archaeological action stories.
One question though; if they are the sons of Belial, who is Belial?
    Keep up the good work.

    1. What a great question! Technically, Belial is a term that can be used to refer to the devil. But often times it’s used to just convey wickedness or evil.

And I am fascinated by Helen as well. She’s such an enigmatic historical (mythological?) character. The more I read up on her, the more I wanted to know. I’ve even been kicking around the idea of writing a Helen story, written of course within the Belial universe. I think that would be fun. So who knows? Maybe some day!

Thanks for reading and for getting in touch. Take care,

    1. Thanks Liz! It actually looks like I’ll have two coming out in November – a novella and a full length novel. I’ll let you know when they’re both available.

      Thanks for reading,

  17. Just finished all three in the Belial series. Loved them! Really looking forward to the next in November, 2014. Can you share whether or not it is on schedule for release? Thank you and take care!

  18. I just finished all 3 Belial books in 3 days (like a few others I see above). And I absolutely loved them! I’m a huge of Steve Berry and James Rollins and have been looking for more authors that have the same vibe. Yours are different but in a great way, I couldn’t put them down! You are now my favorite author! I can’t wait to read all of your future books!

    1. Thanks Shannon! I actually am putting the finishing touches on two books (a novella and a novel which will be out within the next two weeks.) And then I’m on to the next book in the series. I can’t wait to get to that one! It answers a lot of questions. (And undeniably will raise a few!) I’ll drop you a note when the next books are available.

      Thanks for reading!

      1. Thanks so much for letting me know the new books were available. I am stuck at home following back surgery and was looking forward to reading them both, already finished and loved them! Keep up the great writing!

  19. OMG,I have read all of your books and love them!!!! Just ordered Recuit getting to know LOU. BUT when is THE CHILDREN coming out?? I’m desperate.

    1. Hi Connie. No fear – The Belial Children will be out tomorrow! I’ll send you an email when it’s available.

And I completely understand the desperation – as you can tell I have been there myself.

      Take care,

  20. I have downloaded all 5 books. Am reading the second. I don’t speed read like to get into a book and savor it. Yours is one of the best l have read in a long time

  21. HI–I have all of this series and am currently reading “The Children” Hope we don’t have to wait too long for Victoria’s story and any other additions. This is one series that I enjoy very much. Will Max have his own story or will he be added into others?

    1. Hi Tonia. I’m working on Max’s storyline for the next story as we speak. We learn a little more about him in the next book. But now you’ve got me thinking about giving Max his own story down the road.

Thanks for that and for reading,

  22. I haven’t been so thoroughly excited for a subsequent book in a series since Harry Potter: I devoured the first four Belial books in 2 days and nearly wept when I reached the end of Children only to find that I must settle in for the long wait for Origins. I am enjoying the fast pace, interesting historical and archeological tidbits, biblical tie-ins, and strong female characters in the series. I can’t wait to find experience the culmination of the story (if Origins is indeed the finale). Please keep writing; I enjoy your prose and would definitely read any books outside of the Belial series that you produce.

  23. Oh My! 5 books in two days! I absolutely love this series. Thank you so much for this journey. I trully look forward to your next reveal with Victoria’s story.

  24. I love all of the books in the Belial series and I look forward to the new book. I can’t wait to find out who Victoria really is.
    Thank you so much!!

  25. I just finished all 5 books in the Belial series and I am captivated and yearning to know more about Victoria! I am very excited to read the next book. Thank you for creating this such an amazing story!

  26. I just finished the 5th book in the series. I love how you blend past history into your story lines. In fact you have guided me into purchasing books related to historical facts written in the background of each book. Truly enjoy the Belial series and it was by accident that I found such a wonderful author.

  27. I just read the first 5 Belial books in the last 36 hours. Can you give us a date for when Belial Origins will be available for purchase?

Also, I have a theory that Emma/Victoria is related to to someone besides Laney and Henry. Can you tell me if I’m right?

  28. Love love love the series.but am wondering if any news on release date of new book? I have read them all and can’t wait for new one so any updates would be wonderful.yours in books coin terrorist.

    1. Hi Connie. I am just waiting to get it back from the editor. If all goes well The Belial Origins will be out by May 1st. I’ll drop you a line when it’s available.

      Thanks for reading,

  29. Oh good thank you for answering read your reply this morning cause guess what? Today is my birthday so great news to get.

  30. While I was very happy to see that ‘Belial Origins’ is out and couldn’t wait to get it. I was supremely disappointed to see that it’s only on Amazon Kindle. I don’t have a Kindle because my Nook was the very last gift I received from my Dad before he passed, and I don’t need two e-readers, especially since I really prefer paper copies. Any chances of ‘Belial Origins’ coming out on the Nook, or on paper? I’m left still waiting for Victoria’s story. What are my chances? Thanks!

  31. Discovered your books completely by accident and am now on the third book in the Belial Series. I have been completely unable to put them down and am telling all my family and friends in the UK to go and buy them. If this series of books aren’t turned into films, then there’s no justice in the world. Absolutely superb writing, exciting, interesting and just terrific. Cannot wait for the next book.

  32. Just completed The Belial Guard. It was a four cigar book ( 1 cigar equals 3 Amazon stars). The pace of the book was just right. However, I did have to retrace once in a while due to my fingers turing the pages faster than I could read. I could not wait for the next page. I am totally addicted to this and your other series. Notify me the minute Amazon uploads A.L.I.V.E. and the second the next Belial is finished. Thank you for a great read and get to work on turing Hominid into a series.

    1. Thanks Frank! I am working on ALIVE feverishly to get it ready to go. I think of it as a Jurassic World with aliens. 🙂 I’ll let you know as soon as it’s available. And thanks for getting in touch. Notes like yours keep me going!

      Take care,

  33. Love your books. I waited till I thought I had the whole Belial series and have been reading them one after the other. I thought I had reached the end of the series with book 9 – only to find it keeps going. Wonderful news but now I have to wait. Still looking forward to it though and reading your others in the meantime. Thanks for a great read.
